The man who shot a security guard at the Family Research Council last year has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, CBN News reports. In August 2012, Floyd Lee Corkins showed up at the FRC's Washington, D.C., headquarters with Chick-fil-A sandwiches and shot security guard Leo Johnson while trying to enter the building. Corkins was targeting the FRC because of its opposition to gay marriage. He said he planned to kill as many employees as possible and then smear the sandwiches on their faces as a political statement. At the hearing, Johnson said he forgave Corkins for shooting him and that he could have shot him after wrestling the gun away from him, but God told him not to.
