A man who was a pastor has been indicted in the suspicious death of his fiancée, which was formerly thought to be a suicide.

According to the Christian Post, William C. Pounds III has been indicted by a grand jury in Bibb County Georgia in the June death of his fiancée, Kendra Jackson. He has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault.

Although Jackson’s death was initially ruled a suicide by investigators, further evidence has shown that the story Pounds told about Jackson’s death seemed to contradict itself.

Pounds first told officials that he and Jackson had argued about separating and she had held a .40 caliber handgun to her head and pulled the trigger before he could stop her.

Police discovered Jackson lying on her back in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to her head.

Pounds also claimed he only heard one gunshot, but investigators say they found bullet holes in the wall and in a mattress.

In addition, Pounds claimed to have tried to perform CPR on Jackson, but emergency responders noted that someone trained in CPR wouldn’t have tried to resuscitate Jackson due to the type of injury she suffered.
