Sometimes a short prayer is what we give and other times, a long prayer is needed. Today, pray and share time with the Father.

Jesus prayed. He retreated at times to be alone and pray to His Father (Mark 1:35). Our prayers can be spoken aloud, whispered, or thought. God hears the prayers of His people.
Short Prayers of Thanks
Father, thank You for this glorious day. I pray I show Your love and glory to everyone. Give me the words needed to share about You. Give everyone an open heart and a teachable spirit. Amen.
Dear God, thank You for loving me (Psalm 100:4-5). I love you. Amen.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for my family. Amen.
Father God, thank You for the mentors You have placed in my life to lead me closer to You. Each person has taught me how to learn from Your Word. Amen.
Father, I give thanks to You for calling me to write stories that glorify You. I pray each person that reads the words will draw closer to You. In the Name of Your Son, Amen.
God, Thank You for writers and readers. I pray in each word that is written and each word that is read, Your love and mercy will shine through. In the name of Your Son, Amen.
Dear God, Thank You for the gift of laughter. Thank You for giving me the ability to laugh at myself and the funny situations I experience. I love how You provide joy. Amen.
Father, I thank You for the gift of forgiveness. Thank You for forgiving my sins. Help me to forgive others as You have forgiven me. Amen.
God, thank You for showing me how to forgive others. Help me to remember I am forgiven. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I come to You today and ask for healing. My body is aching. My soul is aching. I don’t know what to do. The pain is causing anxiety and depression. Please heal my body according to Your will. Please guide me through any discomfort. Thank You, Father. I love you. Amen.
Dear God, I’m asking for healing for a friend. You have a plan for my friend. I am lifting up this dear person and praying for You to give them peace and comfort. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Lord, here I am again, asking for healing. Healing hearts, minds, and spirits are needed today. Hurtful words and actions have caused more pain than we could ever imagine. We need You, Father. In the name of Your Son Jesus, Amen.
God, I know we may be healed here on this earth or healed completely in Heaven. There are many people hurting in mind and body. We need You. I ask for Your protection and love over each person. Thank You, Amen.
Dear God, I come to You and ask for healing for the world. There is conflict and unrest in many areas. Some people have forgotten to go to You first. Instead, they are trying to rely on themselves. Father God, please heal my loved one according to Your plan. I am sad as I watch them suffer. Please shower the person with Your love, peace, and comfort. Thank You, Amen.
Heavenly Father, You are the only way to healing. Whether we are healed of illness on this earth or if we are healed in Heaven, we give thanks to You. Help us to remember that Jesus suffered for our sins. Help us to know complete healing will come when we are with You. In the name of Your Son, Amen.
Father, help. I need healing in a relationship. Harsh words and actions have caused a divide between friends. Those words and actions can’t be taken back. Now, there is a pain that hurts deep in the soul. Please give me the words to help heal this relationship. In Your Name, Amen.
God, I am coming to You and asking for help with healing and forgiveness. I need to be forgiven and I need to forgive. Words I shared were not spoken in love. The words were spoken during moments of frustration and despair. Allow me to reach out to the one I hurt. Give me the words that will bring healing. I’m sorry I didn’t speak with love to the person. Thank You, Father, Amen.
Heavenly Father, please bring healing (John 14:6). You know the situation. Please help. Thank You. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Short Prayers for Protection
Father, we need Your protection. We have sinned and fall short of what we should be sharing in this world. May we remember to go to You, dear Father, and ask for protection in every situation. Amen.
Glorious Father, thank You for covering us with Your hedge of protection. In every moment, You are with us. Please allow us to remember the love You give. In Your Name, Amen.
Dear God, please protect health care workers. Doctors, nurses, volunteers, and other people need protection. Their daily interaction with sickness can cause them to be worn down in spirit and in health. Help us to lift up these people and show them Your love. Thank You. Amen.
Abba Father, please protect the people who have the coronavirus. I lift those people and their families up to You. Heal their bodies. Heal their anxiety. Give them a day of joy and peace. Please take away this awful virus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
Lord, here I am again. I’m asking for protection for people in nursing homes. Please protect these people from illness and harm. Give them the joy that only You can provide. Be with their families. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Hello, God, I come to you and ask for traveling mercies. The traffic is heavy. Help me to be a good driver and to stay alert. Thank You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Father, thank You for covering my family with Your hedge of protection. Please bring good health and happiness to everyone. Amen.
God, please cover each child with Your love and protection. Make every child know they are loved by You. Give children peace and comfort and safety at school and at home. Amen.
Abba, I cry out to You. Please protect me from feelings of inadequacy. Help me to remember I am Your child. Take away these awful feelings and fill me with Your love and glory. I am Yours. Amen.

Dear Lord, Thank You for loving the children. Thank You for protecting them. Place people in their lives that will show them how to grow a relationship with You. Amen.
Dear God, I am thankful to be Your child. I pray all children will know You and develop a strong relationship with You. I pray for each child I see today. Help them to feel Your love. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I lift up children in my neighborhood and church. Each child is a wonderful blessing. I pray every child will have a strong spiritual life and grow closer to You in each moment. Thank You, Father, Amen.

God, I am looking outside and listening to the laughter of children playing. Families have gathered for conversation and fellowship. Protect them and cover each person with Your love. Help them to feel Your presence. Thank You, Father, Amen.
Father, please protect the children from harm. Give them happiness and safety in their homes and when they are away from home. Please help children to ask for help if they are uncertain about a situation (Matthew 19:14). Thank You for children. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I lift up my children and grandchildren. I ask You to please lead them to a closer walk with You. Guide them every moment. Thank You. Amen.
Father, there are hurting and hungry children in the world. Please cover each child with Your love and protection. Bring physical and spiritual nourishment to them. Children need You, dear Father. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
God, please be with the children who are homeless. Protect them. Nourish them. Help their family to find a safe place to live. Help each family to know Your love and to feel Your Holy Presence. I lift up all children and ask for You to cover them with Your hedge of protection. You are the way, the truth, and the light. Amen.

These are a sampling of prayers to be spoken aloud or thought. God knows our heart. He is always ready for conversation. He invites us to go to Him at any time. We are comforted knowing He is with us in every happy moment and in every troubled moment. Today, go to Him. He waits with open arms. Find rest and comfort when you pray to God.
