Trump Travel Ban Blocked Again in Court

President Trump’s revised immigration order has been blocked again by a judge in Hawaii.

The travel ban has come up against much criticism as well as legal action. The original order, signed on January 27, was struck down by a federal appeals court which ruled that the Trump administration had not provided “any evidence” that the ban was needed to counter a serious national security threat.

The administration subsequently revised the order. The new order would no longer apply to legal permanent residents of the U.S. and excluded Iraq from the original seven Muslim-majority countries named in the first order.

The new order also omitted the provision of priority for immigrants who were suffering religious persecution.

"The new order is going to be very much tailored to what I consider to be a very bad decision," said President Trump, referring to the decision by the 9th Circuit Court that struck down the original order.

However, the new order has now been struck down as well, reports Christian Today.

In his ruling, U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson cited similar reasons as the previous federal court for striking down the order. Wason ruled that there was “questionable evidence” that the immigration order was a matter of national security.
