Joy in Times of Trouble
- Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Jim loved his wife Yanis. They had been married for 25 years. They were just starting their life of retirement and had plans to do a great deal of traveling.
Shortly after retirement, Yanis experienced health issues; the disease and side effects of the medication made her very tired and unable to be physically active. She was no longer able to travel more than to and from the hospital.
Jim lovingly confirmed Yanis over and over again; he loved her and felt privileged to care for her at home.. He was actively involved in her care and did so with joy. His love and commitment to her was genuine.
(Colossians 3:19) Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.
