Candy Carson, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently said that her husband feels called to run for president and will not drop out unless God tells him to.
Christian Today reports that Mrs. Carson recently spoke at Lee University, a Christian college in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Carson is trailing going into Super Tuesday today. He has only four delegates.
Mrs. Carson nevertheless said that he will keep running. She also said that the media has convinced many people that Carson cannot win.
Lee University said Mrs. Carson spoke about “family, life, politics, and other small topics.”
She told the crowd that running for president was something her husband felt God calling him to do. "For Ben it is a calling. Neither one of us wanted to give up our private life for something like this, but we reached the conclusion that this is God's will."
Though Carson is lagging in polls, other polls show that he is the favorite to be vice-president should Donald Trump win the Republican nomination.
“Dr Jerome Hammond, Lee Vice President for university relations, said it was a privilege to host Mrs. Carson: "We worked for months with the Carson campaign to make this happen because we think Mrs Carson is a person our students can admire. On the eve of Super Tuesday in one of the most interesting presidential campaigns in 50 years, we were pleased to host the spouse of a major candidate, especially someone like Candy Carson."
