3 and said, "My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. 4 Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. 5 And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant." They said, "Do as you have said."
NKJV

In this chapter Abraham is quick to extend hospitality to what would appear to be angels and even an appearance of Christ in the Hebrew Scriptures. It's an amazing thing to receive a blessing from the Lord when our hearts are prepared just as Abraham was. We see the finest meal was prepared for these strangers (Gen. 18:6-8). And then we see the promise of God to bear a son reiterated to Sarah at age 89 and Abraham at 99. Then Abraham is shown by the Lord His plan to destroy Sodom. Abraham witnesses the deeper side of God's mercy as he appeals to the Lord on behalf of his nephew Lot in Sodom.

It goes a long way when we extend our heart to show an excellent display of hospitality to those God brings into our lives. It's an invitation to the Lord to remind us He is still able to do the impossible and to show us the depth of His mercy towards those we are interceding for.

1 Peter 4:7-10
7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
NKJV

Friend, continue to pray for, love, be hospitable to and serve one another. Don't hold back!

Life Lesson: God has given His church an amazing assortment of gifts. Allowing these gifts to be led by the Holy Spirit ministers to us, and through us, supernaturally.

Lord, I thank You for desiring to reveal Yourself to me in a deeper way. Please help me to always allow You to work in my heart to show hospitality. Forgive me when I'm tempted to sit on my hands and do nothing. Show me opportunities to use the gifts You have given me to minister to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
