I AM ... The Bread of Life | John 6:12
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."
“Eight months wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” That was Philip’s response, when Jesus asked where bread could be purchased to feed 5000 men plus woman and children. It was a crazy question.
Neither the disciples nor the area bakers had the dough for such a picnic. But all Jesus needed was a boy willing to give up his lunch. He multiplied five loaves and two fish until “everyone ate as much as they wanted” and the leftovers filled twelve baskets! It was a crazy miracle.
Today you may feel like that little boy with a little lunch. But a willing heart to give what we have is all Jesus wants and all he needs. He will take what you have and turn it into what he needs…with leftovers. Crazy, isn’t it?
Lord Jesus, I have so little to offer you. Thank you for not turning me away. Take what I have and multiply it for your honor. In your name I pray. Amen.
