Let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night….

--Nehemiah 1:6

Sometimes Christians wonder why they should pray every day. They think, “Since God is all-knowing and all-powerful, He already knows what He’s going to do!”

Yes, it’s true that God is in control, and He is sovereign over everyone and everything. So why should we bother praying if all of this is true?

The reason we should pray, my friend, is because it’s through prayer that we discover what God wants us to do. It’s through prayer that we determine God’s wisdom and His perfect plan for our lives.

Everything should begin in prayer. Prayer is how we can see and know that God is truly an awesome God! It is through prayer that we mend the broken walls of our heart, and we are able to give God control of our lives.

God can do anything. He does have a sovereign will and plan for us, and He wants to tell us about it through prayer. I hope you will commit to spending time with God in prayer today!

IT IS THROUGH PRAYER THAT WE DETERMINE GOD’S PERFECT PLAN FOR OUR LIVES.
