A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath

Most of us long to be treated tenderly. We long to be nurtured, cared about and treated respectfully. In our busy lives we often forget to speak kindly to our mate, and our harshness is felt like sandpaper against our tender skin. Scripture tells us “A soft answer turns away wrath.” (Proverbs 15:1) Try using tenderness and kindness, even in the face of adversity with your mate. Notice the positive impact.
Dr. David Hawkins is the director of the Marriage Recover Center where he counsels couples in distress.
