Blind and Autistic Singer Earns Heidi’s Golden Buzzer with Big Performance of ‘Out Here On My Own’

People have the ability to surprise and achieve the unexpected, accomplishing things previously thought impossible. God has equipped everyone with extraordinary gifts and talents. He does not bless individuals with skills simply for them to go unused.

One woman, 27-year-old Lavender Darcangelo, is blind and has autism. Most people would take one look at her and count her out, ruling that she has nothing of importance to offer. However, as she showed in her audition, she has been blessed with massive musical ability.

Seconds into her performance of “Out Here on My Own,” it’s clear that Lavender has an angelic voice. The studio audience also instantly recognizes the young woman’s talent. They give her a thunderous round of applause, shocked at her beautiful voice.

However, she continues to wow and amaze, showing off her fabulous voice. Not only that but there is so much emotion and feeling contained in her performance, as one can easily spot from watching the YouTube clip. By the conclusion of her performance, the entire room gives this impressive young woman a standing ovation, including the judges. A few tears were shed as Sofía Vergara can clearly be seen wiping away a tear from her eye.

Lavender’s stunning vocal performance thoroughly blew away all four judges. Simon Cowell called it “sensational.” Sofia, remarking on Lavender’s audition, said it was “spectacular.” But the best moment was yet to come.

Heidi Klum had one question for Lavender. “I would love to be your cheerleader and hold your hand all the way to the finish line, what do you say?”

Heidi then hits the Golden Buzzer, sending confetti raining onto the stage. Lavender and her father are completely overwhelmed.

What a beautiful and precious moment!
