A few months ago, soon after we organized Keep Believing Ministries, I announced our first project. We wanted to equip 25,000 pastors and church leaders in China with free copies of the Chinese translation of An Anchor for the Soul. This week we finally reached the goal. On Tuesday we wired the funds to the publisher. Several hours ago we received word that the money had arrived. This means that over the next few months pastors, church leaders, Bible teachers and Christians all across China will have access to this simple presentation of the gospel message.
A special thank you to everyone who gave and everyone who prayed. Join us now in praying that our Heavenly Father would grant an open door so that the books would go to the right people, and that these 25,000 copies might be multiplied like the loaves and fishes to feed multitudes with the eternal Bread of Life.
God is doing amazing things in China. Astounding things. Unprecedented things. Despite official opposition, the Lord Jesus Christ is growing his church. Not long ago I spoke with someone with firsthand knowledge of China. He pointed me to Habakkuk 2:14 as the ultimate truth. "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Then he earnestly reminded me of what I already knew. "When the Communists came to power in China in 1949, they expelled all the foreign missionaries. Back then there were 700,000 Christians. For decades no one knew what was happening to the church or if it even survived. But by 1980 there were at least 10 million Christians in China. Today there may be as many as 100 million." Then he quoted Habakkuk 2:14 with its vision of the knowledge of the Lord spreading across the earth as the waters cover the sea. "It's already happening," he said. "Nothing can stop it. There is no power, no policy, and there are no pundits that can reverse what God is doing."
It is a great joy to be a small part of what God is doing in the largest nation in the world.
