Franklin Graham said in an interview that Muslims are continuing to persecute Christians and that the U.S. should prioritize welcoming Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities into the country as refugees.

Christian Today reports that Graham did an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network in which he was very clear about his beliefs on Islam.

“This is Islam,” said Graham, “They persecute the Church, they persecute Christians.”

Graham spoke about the atrocities committed by the Islamic State against minorities in the Middle East:

“We see in Syria and Iraq where they cut the heads off Christians, they rape the women, take them as sex slaves. They take the Yazidis, the minorities, and they do the same thing,” he continued. “They kill the men but take the women to have sex with them. And then after they have used them for a number of months, they're so distraught mentally and physically that then they may let them go or they may kill them."

Graham has continued to be a voice against bringing in Muslim refugees.

When asked in the interview whether he is concerned about President Obama’s plan to increase the number of refugees coming to the U.S., Graham stated:

"I would love to see those immigrants be the minorities – the Christians, the Yazidis, and other minorities, the Assyrians, and so forth, that still live in Syria and that are minorities, and allow these Christians and minorities to come to this country would be great."

Graham is currently traveling around the country as part of his Decision America tour, encouraging Christians to vote and leading prayer rallies.

Graham has not endorsed any presidential candidate and disassociated himself from the Republican party in December.
