Gay School Official Put on Leave after Harassing Pro-life Teens

A gay school official in Pennsylvania who got into an argument with pro-life teenagers who were protesting abortion has been put on leave.

CBN News reports that Zach Ruff, the dean of Academics and Student Life at Downington STEM Academy in Chester County, confronted the pro-life teens who were holding signs protesting abortion outside the school.

Sixteen-year-old Connor Haines, one of the protesters, caught the confrontation on camera.

Haines attempted to have a discussion with Ruff, saying that unborn children were being murdered. "Sir, these are image-bearers of God."

"You can go to hell, where they are, too,” Ruff shot back. "They're not children, they're cells! …You're at a science-based school, those are cells!" he yelled. "They're the size of a dime, they're cells,” he continued as the argument got more heated.

Haines even told Ruff, "Sir, you need to turn to Jesus Christ,” to which Ruff replied, "Listen here, son, alright. I'm as gay as the day is long and twice as sunny. I don't give a (expletive) what you think Jesus tells me and what I should and should not be doing."

Haines said that while Ruff’s confrontational demeanor was intimidating, he knew God was protecting him.

“When he was up in my face, my heart started beating crazy fast," he said. "But I wasn't really scared because I had my camera running, there were many people watching, and God has always protected me in the past. I wasn't expecting so much hostility at a local school. I remember praying quickly for wisdom."

Ruff has been put on leave while the school investigates the incident.
