Bethany House Publishers and author Leith Anderson are releasing an unusual book this month — "Jesus: An Intimate Portrait of the Man, His Land, and His People." Anderson describes the book as a biography” of Jesus that uses the gospels to tell His story as well as to understand the cultural significance of the time during Jesus’ life.
Single and looking for a date? Then pick up Dr. Henry Cloud’s "How to Get a Date Worth Keeping" (Zondervan). The title says it all — a “how to” book from a biblical perspective to help singles get out of relationship “ruts” and learn to find the right mate the right way.
The Artists’ Corner:
Chris Tomlin, well-known worship leader/songwriter, debuts his first book with "The Way I Was Made" (Multnomah). Tomlin tailors his book to a college-age audience as he reveals his journey of faith and finding his calling and exhorts his readers to listen to God’s leading in their own lives.
Sandi Patty also releases a book, "Broken on the Back Row: A Journey Through Grace and Forgiveness" (Howard), this month detailing the story of her life — from growing up as the daughter of musical parents all the way through her early career, first marriage, divorce, remarriage and later career. Readers will appreciate the candidness and sincerity from “The Voice” as she tells her story of grace, forgiveness and lessons learned.
