God Of Wonders
Growing up, Paul Baloche thought he might become a priest. Now he's ministering in a different way, through music focused on the awesomeness of God.
An accomplished songwriter, Baloche has written hits like Open The Eyes of My Heart and Above All. Artists such as Michael W. Smith and Ron Kenoly have recorded his songs.
Baloche's latest Hosanna! Music disc is called God of Wonders. It uses a wide array of instruments including mandolin, cello, viola, accordion, Irish whistles and flutes to create atmospheric rock with a worldbeat edge.
As the worship pastor at Community Christian Fellowship Church in Lindale, Texas, Baloche wants his music and his life "to inspire people to pursue a sincere, authentic relationship with Christ."
The plea for sincerity comes across on the self-penned Sacrifice. Baloche sings, "I want to worship You for real, for real, to truly live for You, to truly seek Your face, to turn my heart towards You."
Hosanna! Music has produced an instructional CD-ROM "video songbook" specifically for God of Wonders. The CD-ROM contains teachings on the guitar techniques Baloche used on the project.
