CONSUMING FIRE

For the Lord your God
is a consuming fire.
Deuteronomy 4:24

FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, I love you, but My love will not tolerate other “gods” or “idols” in your heart. My holiness is like a consuming fire that burns through all the chaff of your life. Always keep Me first in your life. Make every moment count for Me. No, you cannot do it alone. But trust Me to purify every motive and burn away every useless thought until you emerge through the fire, pure as gold.

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
Lord, my worthless deeds and thoughtless words are as ashes in Your purifying fire.  You’ve redeemed even the careless years, sparked by matches of rebellion. You are a consuming fire. But instead of destroying me with Your anger, You’ve brought beauty out of ashes and consumed me with Your love.

SIMPLE TRUTH

The best test of character is what you do when no one is looking.
