Denial is the Avoidance of Problems

We often believe that “out of sight, out of mind.” While our problems may be temporarily out of your mind, denial does not solve them—it only delays them, and quite possibly amplifies them. Consider your problems. Are you facing them directly or do you find creative ways to wish them away. Scripture tells us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:2-3). Lean into your problems, exploring what they have to teach you, perhaps even ways to mature you.
