The Apostle Peter tells us that we must live everyday soberly. He is not simply talking about sobriety from alcohol, but being sober in how we approach life, including our emotions. Too many times we are whipped around by our emotions, rather than stepping back and learning how to look at a situation with perspective. Consider today how you will live a balanced and sober life, refusing to allow yourself to be reactive and off-balance.
Dr. David Hawkins is the director of the Marriage Recover Center where he counsels couples in distress. He is the author of over 30 books, including Dealing With the CrazyMakers in Your Life, 90 Days to a Fantastic Marriage, and When Pleasing Others is Hurting You.
