No One Likes a Know It All

You know who I’m talking about—the person who has done everything better, faster and greater than you’ve done it. They’ve been there, done that and nothing you say can match what they’ve done. They flaunt their accomplishments and repel people from them. Scripture warns us to “Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your father in heaven” (Matthew 6: 1).
Dr. David Hawkins is the director of the Marriage Recover Center where he counsels couples in distress. He is the author of over 30 books, including Dealing With the CrazyMakers in Your Life, 90 Days to a Fantastic Marriage, and When Pleasing Others is Hurting You. Dr. Hawkins grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and lives with his wife on the South Puget Sound where he enjoys sailing, biking, and skiing. He has active practices in two Washington cities.
