Yes, life is filled with uncertainties and dangers, and fear can often consume us, but the Bible assures us of God's protective presence, offering comfort and solace in times of distress. 

What does the Bible say about Protection from Evil?

The Bible addresses the theme of protection from evil and harm in various passages across the Old and New Testaments. Here are a few key scriptures:

Psalm 91 - This psalm is often referred to when seeking protection. It says, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, 'My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" This psalm promises that God will deliver and protect those who trust Him.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 - Paul assures believers of God's ongoing protection: "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one."

Ephesians 6:10-18 - This passage talks about the "Armor of God," which includes the Belt of truth, Breastplate of righteousness, Shoes of the gospel of peace, Shield of faith, Helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God). It emphasizes spiritual preparedness against evil forces.

Proverbs 18:10 - "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." This proverb highlights the security that comes from being with God.

    One of the best Scriptures about protection is known as The Lord's Prayer. The Lord’s Prayer reveals giving into temptation puts us in the claws of the evil one. Jesus said the devil comes “to steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10). This is good reason to follow our Lord’s instructions to pray we won’t fall into temptation and under the power of evil.

    Dear heavenly Father, thank You for being our Shepherd and for sympathizing with us in our weaknesses. Please guide us and grant us the strength and desire to resist temptation, to hate evil, and to overcome evil with good. Protect us from deception and every form of evil. Thank You for hearing our prayer, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
