Three Questions - Saturday, May 12th 2012

1 Corinthians 14:3

"But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men."

While it may be a trite saying, the truth remains, "no man is an island." None of us were made to be lone rangers and even those who enjoy being by themselves, in time, long for human fellowship. Because we are social beings, we should make every effort to strengthen, encourage and comfort one another in our faith. We also must be on guard against the opposite. Anytime we are fellowshipping we should ask:

  • Is this strengthening me and my faith?
  • Is this encouraging me and my faith?
  • Is this comforting me and my faith?

If you get three "no's" then it's best not to listen. We have this weird desire to listen to bad things and to watch bad things, but this is often not in our best interest. As we guard our hearts against the enemy and fellowship with like-minded believers, we will be encouraged and our faith will be strengthened.

Life Lesson: We all need to be strengthened, encouraged and comforted in our faith.

Dear Father,
I praise You for this day and the love You have shown towards me. Lord, help me to be discerning as I fellowship with others. Equip me to be an encouragement and a blessing to those around me and in all things, may I look to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
