Actors Alexa and Carlos PenaVega Mourn Their Stillborn Baby Daughter Indy: ‘In the Pain, We Have Found Peace’

“There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss,” the married couple said in a joint statement posted to social media on Monday.

“After a beautiful and peaceful delivery, our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest,” the PenaVegas wrote. “It has been a painful journey. But, in the pain, we have found peace.”

“God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms,” the statement continued.

According to Faithwire, the PenaVegas also shared how their local community has prayed for them during this time and described Indy as “absolutely beautiful.” Despite their faith in God, the couple was also transparent in the emotional aftermath of their loss.

“Grief has come to us in waves,” they wrote. “Moments of feeling absolutely gutted … then moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her.”

They also shared how such events cannot be understood and that “we may never get those answers.” At the same time, they shared that Indy has “completely changed” their world as well as the lives of those around them.

“We love you [and] can’t wait to see how many other lives you change,” their post concluded.

Fellow celebrities expressed their condolences to the PenaVegas with prayers and well-wishes.

“Oh my goodness. I will hold all of you close in my prayers,” “The Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar wrote. “I cannot imagine, but I know only God can bring the peace you seek.”

Meanwhile, actress Candace Cameron Bure expressed hope about heaven.

“We love you. We love baby Indy,” she wrote. “We are praying for you and Los and the kids and the day you all reunite. With all our hearts, we are here for you!”

The PenaVegas have been open about their faith amid their Hollywood careers. During an interview with CBN News last year, Carlos PenaVega shared his testimony of finding Jesus after hitting “rock bottom.”

“I always tell people that acting, singing all this stuff to me, producing writing, it’s a hobby, right?” PenaVega said at the time. “My job is to spread God’s love to everyone … That’s my job. Everything else is a hobby.”
