Gospo Centric recording artists Kirk Franklin and Dorinda Clark-Cole have both secured nominations for the 18th Annual Stellar Awards, as announced by Central City Productions late last month in Atlanta, Ga.

The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, the latest project from Kirk Franklin which was RIAA certified Gold a month after its release, garnered the three-time GRAMMY Award winner and multi-platinum artist nods in five categories:  "Artist of the Year", "Producer of the Year", "Song of the Year" ("Hosanna"), CD of the Year (The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin), and "Music Video of the Year" ("Hosanna").

Label mate Dorinda Clark-Cole was nominated for "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year" for Dorinda Clark-Cole.  The packaging for Dorinda Clark-Cole was also nominated for "Recorded Music Package of the Year".  Clark-Cole is one-third of the renowned Clark Sisters Gospel group.  This past summer she launched her solo career by opening for the legendary Patti LaBelle (for which she received a standing ovation).

Other artists who received multiple Stellar nominations include Richard Smallwood (10), Yolanda Adams (6), Donald Lawrence (5), and Youthful Praise (2).  The 18th Annual Stellar Awards will be held January 11, 2003 at the Atlanta Civic Center and hosted by Michelle Williams, Mary Mary, and Donnie McClurkin.
