Fans should be pleased with Chuck Dennie and crew’s second release These Days, which includes the same Dove Award-winning pop/rock ingredients of their debut, Invade My Soul.

“Salvation Song” is a smile-inducing theme song of sorts, featuring Fleming & John’s John Mark Painter on the trumpet.  God’s constant provision is showcased on the upbeat title track and the ballad-y “Your Presence,” among others.  By The Tree’s rock roots show on two tunes in particular:  “Mystery,” which explores God’s offer to give man something better, and “Change,” man’s plea for God to do just that.

On the whole, These Days sounds almost as if Brit alt-rockers Delirious put out a B-sides collection—and that, by most standards, is not such a bad thing.
