Third Day Receives Four Dove Award Nominations this Week,
Including its First Nomination for "Group of the Year"

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) January 28, 2000 - Atlanta rock band {{Third Day}}, recently nominated for its second Grammy Award and honored for its twelfth No. 1 radio single, has garnered four Dove Award nominations this week from the Gospel Music Association. The band has been honored for "Group of the Year," "Song of the Year," "Rock Song of the Year" and "Rock Album of the Year."

The fastest selling, critically acclaimed and third recording for Third Day, ==Time== has now received a nod from the Gospel Music Association for "Rock Album of the Year" for the 31st Annual Dove Awards and the Recording Academy for Best Rock Gospel Album for the year-2000 42nd Annual Grammy Awards. The first radio singles from the album, "I've Always Loved You" and "Took My Place" received Dove Award nominations for "Song of the Year" and "Rock Song
of the Year" respectively. Having already shipped well over 200,000 recordings since its August 24, 1999, release, the momentum Time has produced for the band has also landed Third Day its first Dove nomination for "Group of the Year."

"Third Day is a stellar group of musicians that has been building towards this moment in their career for many years," says Essential Records President, Robert Beeson. "We are thrilled that the band is receiving such warm recognition from their peers."

The current radio single from Time, "Sky Falls Down," recently became the band's twelfth No. 1 in only three years. Time also delivered the band's first No. 1 Adult Contemporary (AC) hit with "I've Always Loved You," which
also garnered the No. 5 AC song of 1999. The song, "Took My Place," became the first No. 1 Rock single from the album.

Bolstered by an outpouring of critical and commercial success for its current Essential Records recording, Third Day prepares to tackle its most aggressive tour ever. Following a successful fall tour, Third Day is set for a spring major market tour with Jennifer Knapp. The tour begins in March and traverses the nation in 50-cities, including: Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Phoenix, Tampa, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Kansas City, Nashville, Portland, Seattle, etc. The tour includes stops at the House of Blues in Orlando and Myrtle Beach, S.C., as well as numerous college and theater venues across the country. The full itinerary can be found at www.third-day.com.

The Gospel Music Association 31st Annual Dove Award ceremony will be held April 20. Winners of the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards will be announced live February 23 from Los Angeles on the CBS television network.
