And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” … And Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites.”

                                                           -Joshua 3:5-10

Always in the Christian life, it is forward by faith and onward and upward with God. It was the great missionary of yesteryear, David Livingstone, who said, “I will go anywhere for Christ as long as it is forward.”

Years ago, when England was in economic depression, Oliver Cromwell, then prime minister, said to some of his ministers, “Collect all of the gold that you can find in England and let’s melt it together and put an end to this sinking economy.”

And so they searched all over and couldn’t find any gold and they returned to Cromwell and said, “Sir, the only gold that we can find in all of England is the gold in the statues, the icons of the saints in the churches.”

Cromwell stood to his feet and with a loud voice he said, “Well, melt those saints and let’s put them in circulation!”

God wants to melt the saints today and to put us all in circulation for the cause of Christ. Maybe you feel like the children of Israel not knowing what is ahead of you. But its forward by faith—while you don’t know what is going to happen before you, but God is going to surely do some incredible things in your life and through you.

You see the message of the Christian life is this: God brought us out in order to take us in.  God took His children out of Egypt in order to bring them into the Land of Promise.  They’d already been to the brink of blessing when 40 years before, led by Moses, they were there at the Promise Land. But, because of their unbelief, they refused to go forward and they spent the next 40 years on the longest funeral procession in human history, dying in the desert.

God honors His people when they move forward in faith. Decide today that you will answer God’s call to move into uncharted territories of your life, so that others can see how you have been transformed.

THOSE WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR CHRIST ALWAYS HAVE

ONE ELEMENT IN COMMON: POWERFUL FAITH TO PRAY AND OBEY.
