God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them (Heb. 6:10). So much assurance in such a short verse!

If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar (Matt. 6:23, MSG). What do you do when an entire truck of sorrow is dumped on you?

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord (1 Cor. 12:5). If you or I keep scorecards for the people in our lives, we will be miserable.

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us (1 John 5:14). Praying Scriptures increased my confidence over time, knowing that I was praying God's will when I prayed God's Word.

Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch (Luke 5:4). This miracle illustrates a key aspect of Jesus’ ministry: His call, when obeyed, changes everything.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship (Rom. 12:1). God is concerned about us caring for and protecting our bodies.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee (Ex. 20:12). Thank God for the impact of godly mothers in the lives of children.

I was asleep but my heart was awake. A voice! My beloved was knocking (Song of Solomon 5:2). Marriage has a way of robbing our relationship of adventure and romance.

[Daniel] told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery (Daniel 2:18). Daniel and the boys were in trouble with a capital T. Death was imminent and seemingly unavoidable. What would they do?

Those people who are faithful to the Lord Jesus today and until they meet Him face to face will build a greater capacity to receive His rewards.

How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered (Ps. 32:1). Love alone prompts us to confront someone who has done wrong, receive his apology, and grant pardon.

He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them (Mark 29:31). Psychosomatic healing takes time; Jesus’ healings were instantaneous.

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones (Proverbs 14:30). How often do we look at another person and covet what we perceive to be their success?

Love never fails (1 Cor. 13:8). Have you ever noticed that when God gives us a directive, the first thing that comes is fear?

And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word (1 Kings 18:21). We do not like to think of ourselves as choosing to follow a false god, like Baal.

I am the vine and you are the branches (John 15:5). Sometimes we get an inflated idea of our importance. We think, "I'm a special messenger of God." But we're just branches from the vine.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh (Ezek. 36:26). People all over the world today are stuck in systems of false belief about God.

Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! (Micah 2:1). What weighs most heavily on you? Are you ready to let it go?

Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the LORD (1 Sam. 2:12). Don’t neglect your duty! Do what you’re supposed to do today. Don’t put it off until tomorrow.

Honor the Lord from your wealth, and from the first of all your produce (Prov. 3:9). We all live by a list; we all do what's most important to us.
