Keep Your List Short
- Tuesday, April 20, 2010
But where else would we want to be? If we have made that commitment to follow Jesus—whatever the cost—how can we compromise the message of the Scriptures to gain admittance or acceptance by those who reject our message? Should we love them? Yes. Should we present the Good News of the gospel to them and invite them to join us on this one and only, exclusive pathway to heaven? Absolutely! But we must love them enough to challenge them to turn from their sin and return to the Father's heart in the way the Scriptures prescribe. For that is the very essence of the list we must live—or die—by.
If we will keep our focus uncompromisingly on what matters, we will not become sidetracked by things that don't. Our list will be short, and we will be Christians who make a difference in our world.
