Warren says: "I could not vote for an atheist ... because an atheist says, `I don't need God.' And nobody is self-sufficient (enough) to be a president by themselves."

It is so disspointing that a popular public figure feels so comfortable with their prejudice that have no problem stating it openly.

Imagine if he said that about another religion, a race or a gender.

Atheists do not feel that they do not need a god or gods. Many atheists would love to have a god helping them through life, but they simply are unconvinced that any exist due to the lack of evidence.

I like Warren. He seems like a sincere and genuinely kind man but he does not understand atheism. My new book, 50 Reasons People Give for Believing in a God, explores many of the misconceptions surrounding atheism. I wish Warren would read it. Sounding like a bigot is not helpful to his cause. Understanding the hundreds of millions of people around the world who do not believe would be a postive step.

The second instance of "rewriting history" involves his own birthdate. In his book, "Dreams From My Father" and on his birth certificate posted on the net, Senator Obama claims to have been born in 1961. However, during a speech last year (which you can watch on Youtube), he claims that a Selma, Alabama civil rights march brought his parents together and produced his birth. The problem is that the march took place in 1965! So, Obama has the unique distinction of being the only human being to have been born twice!!!

Please don't yell at me any Obama supporters reading this... I pray for him just as I pray for McCain and I love him with the love of the Lord, but it's just plain wrong to try and rewrite history to suit your own political purpose.

I also want to say that Senator Obama has had the audacity on two separate occasions to "rewrite history" for his own political gain. The first concerns his uncle "liberating Auschwitz" (check out Youtube videos and you will see this outrageous claim). Fox News was there to catch him on this mistake (or lie), but still... This is reprehensible and unconscionable considering all of our Jewish brothers and sisters who died in the Holocaust. Why there isn't more outrage about this is beyond me.

I thought Pastor Warren did a good job. It simply is not true that Obama or his party is doing ANYTHING to reduce abortion. Quite the opposite... how sad that if he is elected President, that more babies will die. I noticed that he didn't point out during the forum that he promised Planned Parenthood that the first thing he would do as President is to make the Freedom of Choice Act law (which is basically NO LIMITS on abortion). Also, if you go on Youtube, you can see how he is covering up his vote on the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (he is the ONLY Senator to vote against it). The BOIPA says that a baby who survives an abortion deserves full protection under the law. Evidently, Obama is the only Senator who doesn't think so. Of course, he says there is a difference in the State law that he opposed and the federal law, but if you look closely, the wording is the same. Do the research for yourself and you will see. Tragic.
