With the premiere of God’s Not Dead 2 in theaters, Pure Flix Entertainment has taken the opportunity to promote several of their upcoming projects. However, one new film is already planting the seeds of controversy. I’m Not Ashamed, which is scheduled for release in September of this year, is based off the life and journal entries of Rachel Joy Scott – a student killed in the 1999 Columbine high school shooting. Scott was well-known for her Christian beliefs and was allegedly the first student killed in the attack. The film’s trailer depicts Scott’s attempts to minister to fellow students, while also hinting at the massacre to come.

Audiences have already expressed concern over the film’s subject matter, while others have accused the film of being inconsiderate to the Colombian survivors. Unfortunately, details beyond the movie’s cast (which stars Masey McLain, Nathan Ballard, and Sadie Robertson) are scarce.

For further detail, please visit the film’s official website.
