ISIS has reportedly buried thousands of people in at least 72 mass graves in Syria. The Associated Press mapped out the grave locations using satellite technology; only 17 are currently accessible. Sixteen more graves were also discovered in Iraq.
One of the 17 accessible graves held hundreds of bodies from a tribe that the terrorist group exterminated. The graves are said to shallow, with only a thin layer of dirt covering the dead.
Relevant reports that the number of mass graves is expected to rise as ISIS territory decreases.
The exact number of buried dead from ISIS brutality is unknown, but believed to be over 15,000.
