We may miss God's opportunities often. I have. But one thing I'm sure of. There really is no "right" or "wrong" way to share the reason for the hope and joy inside our hearts—except to "do this with gentleness and respect." We are not robots, dispensing canned information. God calls us as women to genuinely care, to be life-giving encouragers, and we can all share his good news filled with hope. If we know Jesus, and trust him to open doors for us; if we make ourselves available to him and acknowledge that it is he, not us, who does the work; then God will use us wherever we go. He may take us next door or to the next state. He may send us to another country, to another grandmother, or to our own grandchild. God's Word—and his message of hope—is not limited by anything or anyone.

Live in such a way that gives others a reason to question you about the "hope that you have." Others need your words, your example, your encouragement, and your hope. Simply be ready—and God's Spirit will give you the words. He will pave the way.

What opportunities has God given you to "share the reason for the hope that you have"? If you have misplaced that hope, who can you talk to this week to help you rediscover it?

Lasting hope can only be found in Jesus.

Jesus, lead me to those who need hope, and ones who are searching for you. Thank you for filling my life with your hope and joy. Your good news is too wonderful for me to keep silent.
