A Politician

A politician was making a speech in the heart of the slum area.  "When I'm elected," he thundered, "you won't see that long, dreary breadline.  When I'm elected, there'll be two breadlines-one for white and one for rye!"

"Fellow citizens," shouted the political candidate, I have represented you at the capital at a great sacrifice to myself.  I have neglected my home and family.  I have fought.  I have strived, I have-"

"Stop, you've done enough for us," came a voice from the crowd.  "We'll vote for your opponent!"
