A Promise to Stay Out

The release of fifteen British marines and sailors by the fanatical regime of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinijad is welcome but it comes at a price. Iran got a letter from the British government promising not to invade Iranian territorial waters again, though it has resolutely maintained it never invaded them in the first place.

Too bad Iran won’t stop sending Iranian forces into Iraq to destabilize that country. Too bad Iran won’t stop its headlong pursuit of a nuclear weapon which it will use as a club against Britain and the united states and their interests in the region and elsewhere in the world.

The Iranian economy is still in bad shape. Many Iranians are unhappy because the economic promises made by Ahmadinajab in his last so-called election have yet to be fulfilled.

This incident deserves investigating. Why did the British marines and sailors get so far away from their mother ship with no support? Will the u.s. give up Iranian spies and insurgents it recently arrested inside Iraq as part of the deal? This is a dangerous man who had his own reasons for releasing the British hostages.
