Immigrants rights groups held large rallies across the country, including here in Washington yesterday. Basically they are lobbying for the right to break our laws and threatening boycotts if we don’t let them.

Listening to their leaders, one hears the same old stuff about big corporations enslaving the workers and how they need to bring along their family members who are still outside the country. We’ve seen this before: illegals break our laws to get here and then demand that wives, children, mothers-in-law, cousins, brothers and sisters be allowed to come, too, as a demonstration of “family values.”

The demonstrations were against a Bush administration proposal to give the estimated 12 million illegals a path to citizenship if they obtain a work visa costing $3500, pay a $10,000 fine, go home and apply for U.S residency. They didn’t obey previous laws, so why should they agree to obey a new one?

I’m tired of those here illegally telling legal citizens and legal residents to allow them to break our laws.
