Who's Really All-Wet in Britain?

The floods in Britain have been terrible; 10,000 homes are virtually uninhabitable or destroyed, 50,000 without power and 150,000 without drinking water.
Rivers that are famous the world over have exceeded their banks – the Thames, the Severn, the Avon made famous because it runs through Shakespeare’s hometown – all once beautiful, now terrorizing a nation.
It is amusing to watch and listen to the mostly secular Brits talk about this. Reporters interview scientists who blame global warming, though when the last flood of this magnitude struck 60 years ago, there was no global warming.
Some blame the government, as if Prime Minister Gordon Brown had the power to stop the rain. No one – in public at least – suggests that people should pray. Back when Britain experienced a warming of the Spirit of God, people prayed for an end to calamities or protection from them. Now they just blame natural phenomena or politicians for not doing enough.
Maybe it’s such people who are really all-wet. Do pray for the people of Great Britain. Some would still appreciate it.
