A contrast: A quick search on the internet shows the cost of the Iraq war around 2 BILLION per week.... We cant afford to fund Social Security and Medicare, Social programs for the poor, the disabled but we can continue to spend for this war??? I have to wonder about where our heart is? What would Jesus say about all this? Where is the Church in all this? Demanding tithes and building more useless buildings and ignoring the very purpose of giving! If we can fund the war, we can take care of the weakest too! James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead.
