"And everyone did what was right in his own eyes." (Judges 21:25). "Professing to be wise, they became fools." (Romans 1:22). "Ever learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (II Timothy 3:7).

These verses sum up the CA Supreme Court's decision ... and the current trajectory of American culture. When your standard of right and wrong is based on personal opinion ungrounded in absolute truth, no matter how great your educational attainments or how wise you believe yourself to be, the result is only foolishness. How else does one explain these judicial oligarchs equating a category of sexual perversion with the institution that serves as the fundamental building block of civilization?

According to the Bible, Hx is sin and not an immutable characteristic. The only freedom from sin and a sinful lifestyle is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The CA Supreme Court has struck a blow for suppression of the truth, and both "gay" couples and our culture will suffer.

It is not the courts' job to uphold the precise will of the majority of the people. That's what elections are for. The job of the courts is to uphold the Constitution, regardless of whether the necessary decisions fall in line with the will of the majority. It is up to the judges to determine, without bias from the rest of the population, what constitutes equality under the law, or equal protection. It seems more than obvious to me that to exclude Gay couples from the institution of marriage is a clear violation of any notion of "equality," and I have yet to see anyone dispute that on a rational level. Therefore, it is not "activism" on the part of judges to declare that Gay and Straight couples should be treated equally under the law, rather it is an example of judges performing their rightful duty.
