How are you coping with the worldwide economic meltdown? We can learn lessons from this. I think of Jesus’ story about watching out when your barns are full and everything seems to be going well, because this very night your life will be required of you. Then whose will these things be?

The love of money is the root of all evil, said Paul, who is often misquoted on the subject. Scripture has a lot to say about money. Look it up. The warnings are along the line that money often takes the place of god as our point of worship.

Those who follow biblical principles, who are generous with what God has given them, are frugal (remember that word?) without being cheap, who live within their means and trust in God to supply all of their needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus, will be OK.

I know there are people hurting through no fault of their own and jobs have been lost, but things will get better. They always have during previous economic downturns, including 9/11. Have faith, not in money, but in God.
