When Parking Lots Vote

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

October 9, 2008

A Nevada task force investigating alleged voter fraud has raided the Nevada offices of the left-wing organization known as ACORN. No charges have been filed, but authorities are looking into allegations that ACORN is behind a drive to submit multiple voter registrations with duplicate and false names, including names of former Dallas Cowboys football players.

We have seen this sort of behavior in every presidential election. Convicted felons are registered. Illegal immigrants are registered. People who are homeless are registered. Folks with phony addresses or addresses that turn out to be a parking lot are registered.

While such behavior is not the exclusive property of one party, liberal Democrats in recent elections seem to have honed this sort of behavior in their effort to get more liberal Democrats elected.

Let’s hope this gets resolved before the election, because – like a bad call in a football game – if it isn’t challenged immediately, the play stands. This is too important an election to stand for phony votes.
