Avoiding another Mumbai

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

December 1, 2008

What steps might have been taken to prevent or lessen the terrorist incident that occurred in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay?

For one, Indian security should have been tighter. Clearly the terrorists were casing their targets and when security went down, the terrorists struck.

Second, Americans and British traveling abroad might wish to carry fake passports that identify them as something other than American and British. As for Jewish travelers, they might carry passports with a name that doesn’t sound Jewish and fictional address.

Third, America and Britain must begin to shut down schools and mosques where hate is taught. We know where they are, but too many lawyers have used our laws to protect those who would use those laws to kill us. It is completely insane to allow such people into our countries where they teach hate. Their intention is to invade by immigration and then destroy our economy and everything else we hold dear. We know this, but some of us would rather be killed or wounded than be called intolerant. Such people can look forward to a tolerant death.
