A Stain on Chastity

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

December 9, 2008

A 12-year-old British girl has been told she is not allowed to wear a silver chastity ring at school. The reason? School officials consider the ring potentially dangerous and against uniform rules.

I’ll tell you what is potentially dangerous: premarital sex is potentially dangerous because of the physical, emotional and spiritual consequences it brings.

Kioni Lansbury of Devon, England, told the Daily Mail, “Lots of girls sleep around. I want to keep myself pure.”

Wouldn’t you think that is an attitude worth promoting and encouraging other girls – and boys – to emulate? Not in an increasingly secular culture because it reminds Britons of a standard beyond their glands and emotions.

Kioni says many of her friends wanted to get a chastity ring since she got one. And then she makes this excellent point: “If people can wear head scarves, why can’t I wear a ring?” Exactly!

The sex industry is big in Britain as it is in America. If chastity rings were to catch on, that industry – which includes abortion doctors – might go bankrupt.

I used crosswalk.com for Bible searches. I am now using it to read articles.

Stuff about me:

I *KNOW* God is real, Jesus is Lord.
He spoke to me,"Good News" and then I received a Good News Bible.

www.faithclub.net is where my full experience is.

I tell everyone I can that God is real. I mass email it, and I chat on forums linking to my website.

I have a lot of time on my hands and I want to do more for God.
