Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

January 19, 2009

Baby, it’s cold outside, says the old song. And the headlines confirm it.

“Chicago has most consecutive days of snowfall since records began in 1884” … “Flint, Michigan breaks 95-year-old record” …  “Blowing snow, frigid temps pound nation” …  “40 below zero” … “Frigid air, perhaps coldest of winter.”

The incoming administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Lisa Jackson, vowed at her confirmation hearing last week to rely on science and not “advance particular regulatory outcomes.”

One is left to wonder, whose science? In recent months, climatologists and other scientists with expertise in the environment have converted from the global warming cult. A growing number now say they do not believe the planet is perpetually warming to dangerous levels. They get virtually no big media attention, which claims to be fair and doesn’t believe there is another side to global warming.

To buy into selective science in order to give government even more power over us is wrong-headed and dangerous. Enjoy the cold weather. The global warming cult says it is the result of, well, global warming!
