The Criminalization of Policy Differences

Something very dangerous is stirring in Washington. Extreme liberals like Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Rep. John Conyers of Michigan want a criminal investigation of Bush administration officials who ordered enhanced interrogation of terrorist suspects.

These tactics were approved by Justice Department lawyers, but the likes of Leahy and Conyers, along with billionaire liberal George Soros, think that by criminalizing policy differences America will somehow be better protected. They are nuts! These methods produced information that prevented further terrorist attacks.

Believe me when I tell you that our enemies will see an opening if this continues. Already, Iran’s crazy president has slapped the extended hand of President Obama, as has Fidel Castro. Evil cannot be accommodated. It must be defeated. Dictators don’t hate us because we are not nice to them. They hate us for our preservation of liberty, which they see as a threat to their dictatorships.

If criminal investigations go forward, it is likely a political civil war will breakout and I fear the results of that.

Torture is as "un-Christian" as it gets.

Torture is a US Federal Crime which was
signed into law by President Reagan.

The Federal Law can be found here:

Surely Mr. Thomas is not suggesting that believers violate US Laws. Torture has been a heinous crime since the Catholic Spanish Inquisition practiced it. Most of us learned from that. Why would Cal Thomas want any American to commit heinous crimes? Does he want US Soldiers to be Tortured?

Conservatives and liberals can both benefit from enforcement of US laws when violated by Presidents who abuse their power. Yes, a US dictator can come from the left as well as the right. The only way we voters have of making sure that never happens in America is by making them accountable to our Constitution and Laws.

There is no "danger" in enforcing US Laws against power mad US Presidents. Our common liberty, freedom and individual power can only be enhanced. Our children and grandchildren will thank you.

And when will you learn conservatives..the torture you use on your enemies may someday be used upon you.....

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.....

Love your enemies......

Conservative are already crying out about being considered security risks. Do you not understand that the rights that you stand for including the rights of your enemies, are the rights you are protecting for yourself.

Torture is and should be considered a crime.
