Mandating Immorality: Sex Ed in Britain

Cal Thomas

April 29, 2009

For those who think there will be no consequences for others when same-sex marriage becomes fully legal in America, consider this. In Britain, students as young as eleven will be taught about homosexuality and civil partnerships in compulsory sex education classes. The mandatory feature includes all faith schools. That’s right. The government in Britain is about to mandate the teaching of a sexual practice that Christians, Jews and Muslims regard as unholy and against God’s design and will for mankind.

Previously, parents could opt-out of such classes for their children, but no more.

The gay rights movement has always wanted this and now, in Britain at least, they are getting it. Is there anything stopping such a practice from coming to America? Once courts declare homosexuality “normal,” as the medical profession has, there will be no stopping activists from imposing their immorality on the rest of us. Their argument now is that it’s just for them and won’t harm anyone else. Not so. And the imposition of this on even faith schools completes the outrage.
