CAIR’s Mission to America

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

July 6, 2009

CAIR – the Council on American Islamic Relations – is a Hamas front group. It is sending 100,000 copies of the Koran to American leaders and journalists. It says it is not an attempt to proselytize. Sure. If you ever read the statements of some of their current and former leaders, they are clear about America becoming an Islamic state.

Meanwhile in New York City, a preview of more things to come. The city council voted to observe Muslim holidays along with those of Christians and Jews, but Mayor Bloomberg, who has the final say, rejected the idea. Good for him. Students have too many days off already and many graduate – if they do – unable to properly read or write. They don’t need fewer days in school, but more and in better schools.

The pressure from Muslims to change our way of life is ongoing. Here’s a thought: America will observe their holidays when Hanukah, Christmas and Easter are observed in Muslim countries. And America will allow distribution of the Koran when Muslim countries allow bibles. That’s fair, isn’t it? But fairness is not what they want. They want submission.
