Are We Giving Up Our Right to Life?

Speaker Nancy Pelosi vows to get a health care reform bill passed soon, possibly before the August recess. She claims she has the votes. Others are not so sure, as more conservative Democrats want to wait and think this is being rushed. I agree with them.

The health care reform proposed by House Democrats would create as many as a dozen new federal programs, boards and task forces. Not only would this add to the cost, it also will create a system whereby the government and not your doctor gets to decide who gets treatment and who does not. The government gets to pick who lives and who dies.

The language will be altered to make euthanasia and rationing more palatable. Certain clergy will be brought in to say that it’s OK with God (you can always find some clergy to agree to anything. Some Lutherans once signed a document that claimed Hitler was God’s choice for Germany).

Do you understand what is happening in Washington? Liberal Democrats and a liberal president want to rob you of one of your most precious freedoms – even your right to life, the first right in the constitution. You’d better speak up now or forever holding your peace will mean you may die before you’re ready.
