Time to Vote Them Out

Cal Thomas

Syndicated Columnist

October 8, 2009

The Obama administration is outraged by the children killed recently in the streets of Chicago. So what is it going to do about it? Will it call for teaching inner city kids about the value of life? Nope. Will it propose school choice so these kids can go to schools that teach faith in God and morality? Not a chance. No, the Obama administration, in the person of Attorney General Eric Holder, will throw money at the problem.

Tons of money has already been spent on social problems, ever since the Great Society. If money were the answer to social problems we would have none because of the huge amounts of money already spent.

Meanwhile, according to the Washington Times, ACORN gets $1 million for its Louisiana operation instead of some firefighters who had applied for a grant.

And then there's Detroit, where homeless and people reportedly at risk of becoming homeless -- 5,000 of them -- have lined up to apply for a government giveaway. I hope the rest of us survive this. I'm beginning to doubt it. Voting them out begins next month in Virginia and New Jersey.
