So will there be a so-called "public option" in health insurance or not? We don't know. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid couldn't say on Monday. One thing we do know: as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell noted: "(The bill) will be a thousand page, trillion dollar bill that raises premiums, raises taxes, raises Medicare costs for our seniors, creates new government spending programs. That's not reform."

Indeed, it isn't. Never has "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" looked more like an empty promise. This is a power grab by liberal Democrats. They don't care about improving the way insurance companies deliver coverage. They lie about insurance companies being more profitable than any other industry. In fact, they are 35th on a list of profitable industries. Thirty-fifth.

But the left demagogues them because they need an enemy to push through this outrageous bill. It won't affect members of Congress. They always protect themselves. It will affect you and me. Do you care? You'd better. The nursing home employee will be pulling your plug sooner than you may wish.
